The sheer negligence of the staff at an examination centre in Lahore was revealed on Wednesday when they distributed the Mathematics question paper to Class X students who had come to take the English exam, The Asian Mirror reported.

According to reports, the Mathematics examination was scheduled to take place on May 14; however, a grave error occurred due to the carelessness of the staff, including the centre superintendent, who distributed Math question papers instead of English to Class-X students.

On the recommendation of the Lahore Board administration, it has been reported that incompetent staff has been deployed at various examination centres in Lahore; consequently, administrative errors have begun to appear in the examination process.

After the error was discovered, the Lahore Board administration sprang into action, and the Lahore Board office remained open until late at night to recall all 760 centres in the Lahore division that had received question papers.

The administration was able to retrieve the question papers from all examination centres in the Lahore division, but it was unable to return the question papers from Daanish Schools in various districts of Punjab.

Citizens and academic circles stated that these mistakes raised questions about the confidentiality of the examinations.

In the meantime, the Higher Education Department stated that it was aware of the situation and had requested a report from the Lahore Board chairman.
