Hot weather to continue in Islamabad, Punjab plains: PMD

On Tuesday, Pakistan’s Meteorological Department predicted extremely hot and humid conditions across the country, including the capital city of Islamabad and the Punjab plains.

Lahore’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was 153, according to the weather service.

With temperatures in Lahore reaching 34 degrees Celsius in the midst of load shedding, the city’s residents are finding it difficult to keep fast. Furthermore, the weather service predicts no precipitation for Lahore in the next 24 hours.

Mansehra, Haripur, and Abbottabad were among the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities where the weather service predicted light rain and dust winds.

Although the Met Office predicts hot and dry conditions for the majority of the country, isolated rain-thunderstorms are possible in Kashmir and the surrounding areas.

Hot and dry conditions prevailed across the country, but rain-wind/thunderstorms were confined to the provinces of Pakistan’s Punjab and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, rainfall was 9.0 millimetres in D.G. Khan and Sargodha City, 3.0 millimetres in Joharabad, and 3.0 millimetres in Pattan. In Lower Dir, rainfall was 3.0 millimetres in D.G. Khan and Sargodha City, 2.0 millimetres in Dir, and 3.0 millimetres in Dir. In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir: Garhi-Dupatta, Rawalakot, 2.0, Chakothi, Bandi Abbaspur, Dhulli, Chattar Kalas 1.0.

Temperature records for Monday: Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu 46, Jacobabad, Mohenjo Daroa, Khairpur, Rohri, Padidan, and Larkana 45 degrees Celsius.
