The federal and provincial governments have announced advance payment of salaries and pensions for March 2026 to ease financial pressure on employees and retirees ahead of Eidul Fitr, according to reports on Monday.
The Sindh government has decided to release salaries and pensions on March 26, instead of the regular April 1 payment date. The move aims to help public sector employees and pensioners manage Eid-related expenses more comfortably.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Finance Department has issued a formal notification confirming that government employees and pensioners in the province will receive their salaries and pensions on March 16, well ahead of the festive period.
Officials said the early disbursement is intended to support families in making preparations for Eid without facing cash-flow constraints.
Relevant departments have been instructed to complete payroll and pension processing on priority, ensuring that funds are credited to accounts on time.
Authorities have also set internal deadlines for administrative updates and payroll entries to avoid delays and ensure smooth execution of the advance payment plan.
