Tehreek-i-Minhajul Quran Cancels Lahore Mass Aitkaf Amid Regional Concerns

Tehreek-i-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) has cancelled its annual mass aitkaf in Lahore this year, citing security concerns and ongoing regional instability.

The spiritual gathering, a key Islamic ritual during Ramadan, has been held for over 35 years, attracting thousands of devotees from Pakistan and abroad.

TMQ founder and Chief Patron Tahirul Qadri explained that given the current situation, large-scale gatherings are not feasible.

He instructed the organization’s members and volunteers to perform the aitkaf in their local mosques, ensuring safety while maintaining religious observance.

The decision reflects a focus on community safety, religious devotion, and compliance with local guidelines, while allowing followers to continue practicing the ritual spiritually within their communities.
