Indian actress Sonal Chauhan has reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of External Affairs for assistance after being stranded in Dubai due to escalating tensions between the United States and Iran.
Flight cancellations and precautionary airspace closures across the Middle East have left several international travellers grounded, including Sonal Chauhan.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the actress tagged the Prime Minister and the Ministry of External Affairs, seeking urgent guidance and support to ensure a safe return to India.
“Currently stuck in Dubai due to ongoing crisis, flights cancelled with no clear route back home. Requesting urgent assistance,” Sonal wrote in her post.
The disruption comes after reported missile strikes and heightened security concerns in the Gulf region, prompting airlines to suspend or reroute operations. Airports in affected areas have experienced chaos, with families and passengers stranded amid uncertainty.
Indian badminton star PV Sindhu is also among those stranded. Sindhu shared updates on social media describing tense moments at the airport, including the sound of interceptions overhead and a nearby explosion.
She confirmed that she and her team were safe but had been moved to a more secure location with assistance from airport authorities and the Indian High Commission.
As of now, no official statement has been issued regarding Sonal Chauhan’s appeal, though Indian authorities are reportedly monitoring the evolving situation as airlines adjust flight schedules in response to the crisis.
