Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has clarified that expatriates are permitted to own a maximum of three vehicles for personal use, according to traffic authorities.

The clarification was issued by Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Bouhassan, Assistant Director of the Traffic Awareness Department, who said the limit applies to all types of personal vehicles, including cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycles.

Registration Renewal Allowed Within Limit

Bouhassan said expatriates may continue renewing registrations for vehicles they already own, provided the total number does not exceed three. However, authorities will not approve the registration of additional vehicles beyond the permitted limit.

The ministry said the move is part of ongoing government efforts to regulate vehicle ownership, improve traffic management, and ensure compliance with transport and traffic laws across Kuwait.
