At the moment, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and PSL franchises are yet to agree on how many players each team will be allowed to retain for PSL 11, which will feature eight teams for the first time.
PCB officials have proposed limiting retentions to three players per franchise to help the two new teams build competitive squads.
Franchises, however, are pushing for the right to retain up to five players, arguing that releasing too many established names could weaken team identities and affect fan interest.
No final decision has been taken so far, and the number of retentions approved by the PCB will ultimately determine how many of the above players stay with their respective teams or return to the draft.
A final decision from the PCB is expected soon, after which franchises will confirm their official retention lists for PSL 11.
