Lahore Qalandars Become First Team to Renew PSL Franchise Agreement

Amidst the ongoing debate over how many new owners will enter the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with PSL 11, the first confirmation regarding returning owners has come from Lahore Qalandars, as the franchise announced its decision to renew its agreement with the league, securing the rights for the next 10 years.

According to sources, the team’s owners have confirmed that they have signed the new contracts put forth by the PCB.

The board had earlier announced that all relevant proposals had been sent to each existing franchise, except Multan Sultans, with updated valuations.

The teams had the option of agreeing to the new valuations or risking losing their rights to new owners.

For a team that has gone from early struggles to becoming the league’s first back-to-back champion, the extension marks the beginning of a new chapter.

Qalandars’ management announced that they will continue operating the franchise for the next decade, ending speculation about their PSL future and reaffirming their commitment to developing talent and strengthening the league.

The franchise indicated that the decision was straightforward: the PCB offered renewal, and Qalandars wasted no time in signing on, signalling trust in the league’s direction under the current board.

The team has won three titles under the current owners and will be confident of adding more, as Lahore Qalandars have built one of the strongest development pathways in Pakistan cricket — from the Players Development Program (PDP) to their High Performance Centre. The renewal ensures these projects will continue to shape national-level talent for years to come.

With the next PSL cycle taking shape, the announcement provides a major boost for fans, players, and the league’s overall structure.

After their PSL agreement, the Lahore Qalandars now look set to embark on another decade of competition, talent production, and fan engagement as they aim to keep their place among the tournament’s top contenders.
