Sardar Usman Buzdar’s resignation as Punjab chief minister was challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday.
Tanveer Sarwar, a citizen, argued in the petition, in which the Punjab chief secretary and others were named respondents, that Buzdar’s resignation was not addressed to the provincial governor, but to the Prime Minister. “Furthermore, contrary to the constitutional requirement, he did not write it himself,” he said, pleading with the court to declare Buzdar’s resignation ‘unconstitutional.’
