On Thursday, almost 26,000 teachers in Punjab had applied for transfers to various cities across the province.
The deadline for teachers to apply for transfer was April 13.
On an open merit basis, 16,000 female teachers and 12,553 male teachers applied for transfers.
In accordance with the wedlock policy, approximately 9,000 people applied for transfers. Around 2,100 teachers who were promoted applied for transfers as well.
In the mutual transfer category, 2,115 teachers applied.
According to the school education department, applicant verification has begun, and all transfer orders will be issued by April 23.
