Court seeks arguments on release pleas of Shehbaz, Hamza

An accountability court in Lahore heard the Ramazan Sugar Mills case against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz on Wednesday and requested arguments on the acquittal petitions of both of them at the next hearing on April 28.

The case was heard by Accountability Court No. 5 Judge Sajid Ali Awan.

Hamza Shehbaz appeared in court and had his attendance recorded. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was granted an exemption from appearing in court on the same day by the court.

The National Accountability Bureau has nominated both Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz in the Ramazan Sugar Mills reference (NAB).

Former Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is accused of misusing state funds to build a nullah and a bridge for Ramazan Sugar Mills.
