Consultative talks for the formation of a federal cabinet have reached the final stage between the newly formed government of the PML-N and its allies.

According to sources, the cabinet formation process will be completed within the next 24 hours. In the first stage, 20-25 federal and state ministers would take their oaths of office.

The PML-N is expected to take over the ministries of information, defense, finance, and the interior. While the Pakistan Peoples Party would be offered six ministries, including the foreign ministry.

The PML-N wants PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to be appointed Foreign Minister. However, Sherry Rehman and Hina Rabbani Khar are also possible candidates for the position of foreign minister, according to sources.

They also stated that Senate members from allied parties would be offered ministries.

Leaders of the Muttahida Quami Movement (P) and the Balochistan Awami Party would also be appointed to ministries.

Khwaja Saad Rafiq, Maryam Aurangzeb, Khurram Dastgir, Rana Sanaullah, and Khwaja Asif will be given ministries from the PML-N.

Azam Nazir Tarar, Afghan Ullah, and Rana Mqbool’s names were also considered.

Independents who backed the PML-N and its allies in the no-confidence vote would also be given ministries.

According to sources, the government is considering replacing governors in three provinces.
