PCB launches free education program for players

PCB unveils women’s central contract list with revamped pay structure

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declared a significant step toward the holistic development of local athletes, signing a three-year partnership with Beaconhouse School System to provide free education to 120 promising cricketers across the country.

Under the agreement, Beaconhouse will offer full educational scholarships to standout players from the U15, U17, and U19 categories representing 16 regions of Pakistan.

Duration of the program

The program will run from July 31, 2025, to July 31, 2028, ensuring that Pakistan’s next generation of cricketing talent can pursue both sporting and academic ambitions without financial burden.

The signing ceremony took place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, and was attended by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, COO Sumair Ahmed Syed, white-ball head coach Mike Hesson, and senior PCB officials.

Blending cricket and sport

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi praised Beaconhouse for its contribution to Pakistan’s cricketing ecosystem, calling the partnership “a landmark initiative that blends education with sport.”

The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that the list of 120 players eligible for free education has already been submitted to Beaconhouse, with selections based on merit and regional performance in age-group cricket.

This initiative is a continuation of the PCB’s broader development vision, which emphasizes not just athletic excellence but also academic and personal growth, an approach inspired by successful youth models in other cricketing nations.

By ensuring educational stability, the partnership aims to prepare young cricketers for life beyond the pitch, empowering them to become well-rounded individuals who can contribute to both the game and society.

With this move, the PCB continues to redefine its commitment to nurturing Pakistan’s sporting future, one where education and cricket go hand in hand.
