President Alvi seems not to retire from post

Despite the political instability that has ensued since Pakistan Tehreek-e-(PTI) Insaaf’s federal administration was deposed by a vote of no-confidence, President Dr Arif Ali has stated that he will remain in office for the time being and has no plans to retire.

According to close advisers to the president, he would continue to carry out his constitutional responsibilities as usual, and the PTI leadership has not issued any directives or discussed his resignation.

According to sources, President Alvi may consider resigning if PTI chief and former premier Imran Khan, in conjunction with party officials, asks him to do so.

If a future federal government decides to remove the president through constitutional means, the party will make a choice based on the facts.

Arif Alvi may be able to continue in office under the new probable prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif.

According to those close to the president, he is actively monitoring the political situation.

He will take a position based on the PTI leadership’s decision, keeping his political affiliations in mind.

For the time being, Pakistan’s president, Dr. Arif Alvi, stays in office.

The uncertainty surrounding Alvi’s appointment derives from months of political turbulence that culminated in Imran Khan’s ouster by the National Assembly’s combined opposition.

On early Sunday morning, 174 legislators backed the combined opposition’s no-confidence resolution, which needed 172 votes in the 342-member parliament to pass. The unprecedented ousting of the prime minister shook the political earth of the country, ostensibly putting an end to the protracted turmoil.
