World’s most expensive burger costs $11,000; requires invitation.
The world’s most costly burger is served at the Asador Aupa restaurant in Spain, priced at the equivalent of 11,000 US dollars.
However, it is only available to guests invited by the restaurant. Despite rising prices in recent years, burgers are generally considered among the most affordable items on restaurant menus. Yet, this particular burger, sold at a Spanish establishment, breaks all conventions.
The restaurant is located in Cabrera de Mar, in Catalonia, a semi-autonomous region in northeastern Spain. It specialises in Basque cuisine, and the burger was developed by the restaurant’s own chefs. Reports suggest that the dish took eight years to perfect, involving research and trials. Its ingredients remain unknown.

What sets this burger apart is not decorative elements such as gold but its high-quality components and distinctive culinary experience. The price reflects the exclusivity and premium nature of the offering.
The restaurant was established by Spanish chef Bosco Jiménez, also known as Bday Vikingo. He is recognised for his passion for Basque food. His concept behind the creation was that luxury should be understated and accessible.
Although few can afford an $11,000 burger, entry is not merely a matter of cost. A personal invitation from Asador Aupa is required to sample what is reportedly the most expensive burger in the world.
