Five alleged dacoits were reportedly killed in an encounter with police on Sunday night in Ahmedpur Sharqia’s Nowshera Jadeed neighborhood.
According to the police account, when cops arrived at the crime scene following information that nine ‘robbers’ had snatched a motorcycle, a cellphone, and cash from a man, they were fired upon by the outlaws, prompting a police retaliatory fire. “As a result of this encounter, five dacoits were killed,” the Force’s spokesman said, adding, “Those killed in the encounter were members of the Hassam Meorra gang.”
