Man died under NAB custody

A man in the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) died on Thursday at Nishtar Hospital in Multan after consuming ‘acid’ in detention.

Abdul Khaliq, a patwari, was arrested in connection with a metro corruption investigation.

The death infuriated the deceased’s family members as well as the employees union, who shut down the hospital’s gate in protest, causing police and hospital security personnel to arrive and control the situation.

Abdul Khaliq’s body was taken to a hospital for a postmortem, while his family members sought an investigation into his death.
