Lahore zoo is getting new exotic animals soon.
Lahore Zoo is set to welcome a major addition, as preparations are underway to import a group of 12 giraffes from South Africa.
Arrangements are being finalized with an airline to ensure the animals are transported directly.
According to Zoo Director Mudassar Hassan, the giraffes will undergo a quarantine period of 15 to 30 days upon arrival in Pakistan, during which they will be closely monitored and examined.

Out of the 12, nine giraffes are destined for the Safari Zoo, while the remaining three will take up residence at Lahore Zoo.
The Punjab government has allocated Rs 135 million to support this initiative. This isn’t the first time giraffes have been brought in from South Africa; a similar import took place in 2018, when three giraffes joined the zoo’s collection.
Director Hassan also mentioned that efforts are ongoing to acquire other large animals, including elephants, for the Safari Zoo.
