Rawalpindi Police have detained a couple involved in a honey trap scheme used to extort money from citizens.

A case was registered against the suspects, Raheel and Urooj, on the complaint of a government employee.

The FIR includes Section 21 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

According to the case details, the female suspect lured the complainant to her house, where a compromising video was recorded.

The suspects initially extorted Rs200,000 for the complainant’s release, followed by an additional Rs510,000 through continued blackmail.

When the complainant refused to pay more, the suspects sent the videos to his friends, the FIR stated.

The accused also trapped the complainant’s friends, extracting another Rs410,000 through similar tactics.
