Radio jockey and content creator Mahvash found herself at the centre of an online storm after being accused by social media users of benefiting professionally from her alleged association with Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal.
Mehwish, who has been linked to Chahal since late last year, took to Instagram earlier this week to post a strongly worded video in response to personal attacks and negative comments regarding her professional accomplishments.
This comes in the wake of Chahal’s recent divorce from Indian choreographer Dhanashree Verma, which has revived interest in the RJ’s ties to the cricketer.
In the viral video, Mahvash directly addressed comments claiming that Chahal had “set her career”, sharing screenshots of the remarks. One such comment read, “Yuzi Bhai has set her career,” to which she responded, “I have been in this industry since 2019.”
Mahvash further strengthened her rebuttal by sharing a collection of images and clips from her professional journey.
This included behind-the-scenes glimpses from the set of the film Section 108, which she produced and featured veteran Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
To critics questioning her knowledge of cricket, Mahvash remarked, “I’ve been hosting cricket events since you were born. Don’t read forwarded messages from WhatsApp University.”
Another widely circulated comment accused her of lacking talent. In reply, Mahvash stated, “I have written two books, I am the daughter of a scientist, and my talent is on display on Amazon.”
Listing her career achievements, Mahvash identified herself as a radio jockey, content creator, actress, host, producer, and writer. She also recently starred as the lead in the Prime Video film Pyaar Paisa Profit.
Concluding her message, Mahvash addressed her trolls by saying, “Your age is not as long as my career has been. So speak wisely in the future.”
