Two Pakistani sisters drown in UK.
Two sisters from Rawalpindi, Hajra Zahid, 29, and Haleema Zahid, 25, tragically drowned while visiting Eryri National Park in North Wales with university friends.
The sisters had arrived in the UK four months ago to pursue a master’s degree in International Business at Chester University.
Originally from Kahuta near Rawalpindi, they lived in South Yorkshire and were residing in Maltby, Rotherham. Hajra Zahid was married and left behind two sons, aged six and three.
Their funeral prayers were offered in Northern England on Tuesday night. Their bodies were flown to Pakistan on Wednesday, amid grief and unanswered questions.
