A man in prison was shot dead in an ‘encounter’ with the CIA Police in the Chuhng neighborhood of Lahore on Thursday.
The police said that as Ashiq, the suspect, was being transported for the retrieval of the weapon used in the murder of Advocate Amanat, his wife, and a two-month-old baby girl in the Chuhng region, his accomplices attacked the police vehicle in Jubilee Town, near Izmir Town.
According to authorities, the suspect was killed as a result of his comrades’ firing.
The area had been sealed off and a hunt for the assailants had begun, according to police.
