The Islamabad High Court dismissed a plea contesting the registration of a case against Baloch students and counsel Iman Mazari on Monday.
The plea was heard by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah, who sought to invalidate an Islamabad police case against more than 200 Baloch students and Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari’s daughter Iman Mazrai for staging a protest outside the National Press Club in the federal capital.
Deputy Attorney General Tayyab Shah told the court during the hearing that the police had withdrawn their FIR against the suspects.
Justice Minallah asked lawyer Zainab Janjua if her petitioners’ reservations had been removed. Every time, she claims, the administration first registers an FIR and then cancels it.
CJ Minallah stated he was dismissing the case since the police had dropped their FIR.
