Islami Jamiat Tulba goons attack IER Department at Punjab University in Lahore.

A group of Islami Jamiat Tulba (IJT) workers attacked the office of the director of Punjab University’s Institute of Education and Research (IER), broke the equipment, and threatened the staff, reported The Asian Mirror.

The Lahore police registered a case of the incident on Wednesday and detained the main suspects, namely Mujtaba and Zain Shaukat, while conducting raids to apprehend the remaining accused.

According to the text of the FIR, Mujtaba, Muhammad Anees, and Zain Shaukat, who introduced themselves as representatives of IJT, attacked the director’s office, beat up staff and guests, and broke furniture and windowpanes.

After listening to the hue and cry, about 25 to 30 companions of the IJT students also entered the department and caused a ruckus which resulted spreading panic among female students who started raising alarm.

The attackers, who were not even students of Punjab University, left the department after issuing threats to the staff.
