Renowned Pakistani Punjabi film actor Shafqat Cheema, renowned for his compelling portrayals of villains in Punjabi cinema, is fine and currently admitted in hospital due to pneumonia.
Earlier, there were reports circulating on social media that Shafqat Cheema was slipped into a coma due to a blood clot in his brain artery.
His family has now clarified that the news is fake and requested fans to avoid sharing such unverified reports.
The 62-year-old actor has significantly influenced Punjabi cinema through his extensive and impactful career, spanning over three decades.
He earned the title of ‘Pakistan’s favorite villain’.
Cheema’s career began in the late 1980s with a side role in Kalka (1989), which marked the start of his journey in the film industry after years of struggle.
His notable films include Kalay Chor, God-Father, Munda Bigra Jae, Choorian, Hathi Mera Sathi and many other blockbuster movies.
He has also worked in superhit Pakistani dramas that include Khuda Aur Muhabbat, Ashk, and Heer Ranjha.
