Team members of the first women’s K2 expedition successfully scaled the world’s second-highest peak, K2, reported The Asian Mirror on Thursday.
According to the reports, the team, led by Sarbaz Khan, started their adventurous journey last month with special help from the Pakistan Army.
Participants dedicated their success to the Pakistan Army and the nation of Pakistan, stating that despite critical weather conditions, they were determined to fulfil their mission.

Team leader Sarbaz Khan expressed congratulations and gratitude to the whole nation.
Sultana Nasab, a team member from the Shimshal region of Gilgit-Baltistan, shared her joy at hoisting the Pakistani flag on the summit of K2 and thanked the Pakistan Army for their support.

After completing their mission and reaching Skardu, the team was given a warm welcome by the Pakistan Army.

Later, in Gilgit, the commander of the Frontier Constabulary of the Northern Area (FCNA) met with the team members, congratulated them, and distributed certificates of appreciation.
K2, at 8,611 metres above sea level, is the second-highest mountain on Earth, after Mount Everest at 8,849 metres.
