The menu of Punjab jails have been upgraded in order to ensure quality food to prisoners, The Asian Mirror reported on Friday.
Mian Farooq Nazir, Inspector General (IG) Jails, maintained that chicken will be served seven times a week in the jails of Punjab and now qorma, pulao and karahi have been added in the jail food menu.

IG Jail said that the menu was upgraded to provide food containing 2800 to 3000 calories per day.
To improve curry gravy, 25 percent of onion, ginger and tomato were increased, Mian Farooq Nazir said.
He said that Kasuri fenugreek is added to improve the taste of the food.

Earlier, chicken was provided six times a week and now the menu has been prepared with the opinion of experts to determine the calories, Mian Farooq Nazir further said.
