US president Joe Biden seeks $101 million in aid for Pakistan.
The US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Donald Lu said on Tuesday that President Joe Biden had requested $101 million in aid for Pakistan, The Asian Mirror reported on Wednesday.
Donald Lu said this during a briefing to the House of Representatives Committee on Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Lu maintained that the aid request aims to support democracy and human rights in Pakistan.

He further said the proposed assistance will also aid Pakistan in its fight against terrorism, economic reforms, and debt relief, helping to stabilise the country’s economy.
In the same briefing, Donald Lu raised concern over the situation in Afghanistan, particularly regarding the rights of women and minority groups.
He said that good relations with the Taliban government based on their respect for these rights and the release of all American citizens.

Biden is an American politician who is the 46th and current president of the United States since 2021.
A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the 47th vice president from 2009 to 2017 under President Barack Obama and represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009.
