Aman Jirga continued for the second day as people from different walks of life continued the sit-in in front of the District Commissioner (DC) office in Tank District, on Friday.
The Aman Jirga held against the disturbed law and order situation in Tank yesterday by the people of Tank continued for the second day.
Thousands of people participated in the Jirga protest on the second day as well.
The protest camp was also being held throughout last night.
Citizens and traders from all over the district closed their shops and participated in thousands, observing a shutter down strike in the entire district.
The jirga was attended by people of different walks of life including Tribal Mashrans (leaders and elders), youth, traders, intellects, scholars and others.
Demonstrators from different areas took part in rallies, carrying black flags.
People of Pakhtunkhawa are showing the art of peaceful protests, cause based and rights based protests not emotional demands.
They have been literally begging for peace with massive socially-organised protests.

The Jirga was addressed by Head of Aman Jirga Maulana Naqeebullah Behtanni, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Usman Khan Bhetanni, Pashtun nationalist leaders Malik Akbar Ali, Patu Lala, Sheikh Naseer, Dastagir Bhetanni, Nadeem, Khalid Marwat and and others.
Speaking on the occasion, they said that citizens have been forced to relocate due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the city and suburbs.
The speakers said that the law enforcement institutions are responsible for the disturbing situation of law and order in Tank.
“We will not allow the operation Azm-e-Istehkam in such a situation,” they announced.
They urged that all the people of Tank should participate in Aman Jirga because it is not only the issue of Pashtuns but also the issue of Tank’s entire population.
MPA Usman Khan said that whatever decision the people of Tank take, he will be at the forefront with them.
The people participating in Aman Jirga said that this sit-in will continue until their demands are met.
They warned that if their demands are not met, they will move towards Islamabad.
The leaders of Aman Jirga have requested all Pashtun nations to participate in this protest because peace is the problem of all of them.
The participants also announced a complete boycott of the polio campaign across the district.
Black flags were also hoisted on houses and shops in protest.
Due to the protest, most of the government offices including District Kachheri and Deputy Commissioner Office remained closed.
Due to protest, all private and government banks were closed across the district.
It is said that with increasing time, the intensity of the protest is increasing.
