Good bye to Wahab Riaz from PCB selection committee.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has removed former cricketers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from its seven-member selection committee.
The decision came amid broader changes hinted at by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who had called for a major overhaul after the team’s disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 .

Sources suggest that Asad Shafiq and Mohammad Yousuf, who remain on the committee, may also be dismissed in the near future.
Naqvi had alluded to these impending changes in a press conference in New York on June 10, following Pakistan’s crushing defeat to India.

He described the performance as so poor that it necessitated “major surgery” rather than minor adjustments.
“It seemed that a minor surgery would suffice for the Pakistan cricket team, but after the extremely poor performance, it has become clear that the team needs major surgery,” the PCB chairman said.

Earlier today, Naqvi held discussions with key coaching figures, including white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten, red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie, and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood.
He also met with former and current cricketers to strategize the future of Pakistan cricket.
A new selection committee is expected to be announced shortly as part of these sweeping changes aimed at revamping the team’s performance.
