Traffic wardens have been suspended for issuing challan to PTI MPA.
The City Police Officer (CTO) of Peshawar has suspended two traffic wardens after they issued a traffic violation challan to Sher Ali Afridi, a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.
The wardens imposed a fine of Rs500 on MPA Afridi for a traffic infraction.

Following this, Afridi lodged a formal complaint with the CTO, alleging that the wardens used inappropriate language when his brother identified him as an MPA.
“My brother informed the wardens that I am an MPA, but they responded with some inappropriate words,” Afridi stated in his complaint.

In response, the traffic police released a statement clarifying that the wardens were suspended not for issuing the fine, but for “misbehaving” with the lawmaker.
Sher Ali Afridi, who represents the PK-77 constituency in the Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, has yet to make a public comment on the suspension of the wardens.
