Mehdi Hasan roasts MPA Hina Parvez Butt after her wrong attribution of the word “PAID”.
British-American broadcaster Mehdi Hasan recently interviewed Chairman PTI Imran Khan from jail for his own new media organization, Zeteo.
The interview was titled as “Imran Khan talks to me from prison” and published on Zeteo’s website. This article was exclusive and limited only to the subscribers of Zeteo.
Under the title, the word “PAID” was mentioned to clarify that only paid subscribers can read this article.
Considering that Imran Khan gave a paid interview after read the word “PAID” on the post, PLM(N) MPA from Lahore Hina Pervez Butt shared a screenshot of the article with a caption (Piase lo, interview do) meaning “take money and give interview”.
Taking a dig at Hina Parvez Butt, Mehdi Hasan retweeted and wrote “This Pakistani politician from the governing party is pushing a conspiracy theory that I was “paid” to do my interview with Imran Khan.”
He clarified that “Paid” on the post below means it’s a post only for paid subscribers to Zeteo.”
He said, “Imagine being this ignorant & conspiratorial… & elected! Lol”.
Mehdi Hasan further said, “Pretty sure that if there was a big conspiracy involving Imran Khan paying Zeteo (!) to do an interview with him, we wouldn’t stick… “PAID” at the top in plain sight to give it all away.”
