The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the establishment of a fan park at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium for the eagerly awaited match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan in T20 world cup clash.

Though the game will be played 11,000 kilometers away at New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, local fans can catch all the live action on a giant screen.

This fan park is part of a broader ICC initiative to bring the excitement of the World Cup to more communities worldwide.

The ICC has confirmed a record number of nine fan parks across five countries, aiming to engage a global audience in this cricketing spectacle.

In addition to Rawalpindi, fan parks will be set up in locations such as Cedar Creek Park in Seaford, New York, and the Indira Gandhi Indoor Arena in New Delhi, India.

The Rawalpindi fan park will open its gates 90 minutes before the start of the match and will remain open until 60 minutes after the final ball is bowled.

This initiative is expected to draw large crowds, eager to support the Green Shirts in what promises to be a fiercely contested match.

“The ICC has announced a record number of fan parks to broadcast the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 with nine live sites in five different countries,” the ICC stated.

This unprecedented move aims to make the World Cup the most accessible and community-focused tournament in the history of the ICC.

These fan parks will not only show live broadcasts of the matches but will also feature an array of entertainment options.

Attendees can look forward to live DJ performances, food and drink stalls, appearances by cricket ambassadors, and various family-friendly activities, ensuring a festive atmosphere for all.

The T20 World Cup 2024 will commence on June 1, with matches hosted in the US and the West Indies.

In total, 22 World Cup matches will be broadcast at the fan parks, making this the highest number of fan park locations for any ICC World Cup event to date.
