Imran Khan’s picture from Adiala Jail goes viral.
PTI founder Imran Khan appeared before the Supreme Court of Pakistan via a video link in the National Accountability (NAB) Ordinance 1999 amendment case.
A five-member SC larger bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, and also comprising Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi is hearing the case.
Arrangements to ensure the PTI founder’s appearance before the Supreme Court bench via video link were finalized in light of the apex court’s order.
The proceedings of the case aren’t being live-streamed on the SC’s YouTube channel.
At the start of the hearing, Khawaja Haris approached the rostrum.
The Chief Justice expressed disappointment at his absence, noting his role as counsel in the “original case” and expressing a desire to hear his perspective.
When asked about his fee bill, Haris responded that he didn’t require one.
“Did you submit the bill for the fee as a lawyer?”, the top judge asked. “No I do not need a free,” the lawyer replied to the CJP.
The federal government’s lawyer then began presenting arguments, informing the court that the NAB amendment case was under consideration by the IHC.

In the previous Supreme Court hearing regarding the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Ordinance 1999 amendment case, the issue of whether the PTI founder should attend in person or via video link was discussed.
The Chief Justice pointed out that initially, the PTI founder expressed the wish to attend in person.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail highlighted that it’s up to the PTI founder to decide whether to appear personally or through legal representation.
Justice Athar Minallah stressed the importance of the PTI founder’s right to appear in person, given his involvement in the NAB-related case.
But Imran Khan appeared via video link from the jail.
