Asif Zardari to meet Siraj ul Haq today

Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari would visit the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) headquarters in Mansoora, Lahore, today to meet with the party’s Ameer Sirajul Haq.

At their meeting, which is slated for 3:00 p.m. today, both leaders will exchange opinions on the country’s present political situation.

Zardari would also brief his host on recent discussions he has had with various opposition leaders to discuss the opposition’s plans to file a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) administration.

Both leaders were planned to meet on February 13 but had to postpone their meeting due to the former president’s declining health.

It’s worth noting that Zardari recently met with various opposition leaders, including PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and leaders of the coalition government at the center, including Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain of the PML-Q, and leaders of the MQM-P, to rally support for the no-confidence motion.
