Yeonmi Park, a defector from North Korea, has brought to light disturbing revelations about what she claims to be a secretive and exploitative system known as the “pleasure squad” under the leadership of Kim Jong un.
These allegations, if true, paint a harrowing picture of systematic exploitation and control within the ruling elite of the reclusive nation.
Selection Process:
According to Park’s account, the selection process for the “pleasure squad” involves meticulous scrutiny of young women based on their physical appearance, family background, and political loyalty.
Park alleges that Kim Jong-un personally selects 25 virgin girls each year for this purpose, with preference given to those deemed physically attractive and politically loyal.
Rigorous Screening:
Once identified, the selected girls are subjected to rigorous medical examinations to ensure their virginity. Park claims that even minor imperfections, such as scars, can lead to disqualification from serving in the squad.

This process highlights the regime’s obsession with control and the objectification of women for the pleasure of those in power.
Specialized Training:
Upon passing the screening process, the chosen girls are divided into three groups, each trained for specific tasks.
One group is trained in massage techniques, another in performing songs and dances, while the third is allegedly groomed for sexual intimacy with Kim Jong-un and other high-ranking officials.
Exploitative Practices:
Park alleges that members of the “pleasure squad” are expected to fulfill the desires of Kim Jong-un and other men in power without question.
Their sole purpose is to gratify the needs of the dictator and his inner circle, reducing them to mere objects of pleasure and denying them autonomy and dignity.
End of Service and Marriages:
The tenure of the girls in the “pleasure squad” reportedly comes to an end in their mid-twenties. Some are said to be married off to Kim Jong-un’s bodyguards after their service, further highlighting the normalization of exploitation within the regime’s hierarchy.

Father’s legacy:
Park claims that the origins of the “pleasure squad” can be traced back to Kim Jong-un’s father, Kim Jong-il, who purportedly believed that sexual intimacy would grant him immortality.
This practice, if true, highlights the deeply entrenched culture of control and exploitation within the ruling elite of North Korea.
