Pakistani actress Sonya Hussain has recently commended Sher Afzal Marwat, a member of the National Assembly from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for his principled stance on the second marriage.

In an Instagram Story posted on Sunday, Hussain expressed her profound respect for Marwat, praising his understanding of human decency and fundamental relationship principles.

Sonya Hussaiyn wrote, “In this cruel society we live in, I have immense respect for this man [Sher Afzal Marwat]. He understands the importance of human decency and the basic principles of relationships. Marrying solely to have a son is incredibly cruel. By making this choice, he not only did justice to his wife but also protected his daughters from a lifetime of trauma. I have no doubt that his daughters will make him incredibly proud on day. Respect sir.”

Marwat’s commendable stance came to light during a podcast interview where he revealed that his wife had granted him permission for a second marriage in 2007 in hopes of having a son.

However, after careful consideration, Marwat declined the offer, citing his reluctance to inflict emotional distress upon his wife and daughters.

He emphasized the emotional toll that second marriages can have on women, highlighting the importance of empathy and compassion in marital relationships.

Hussain, known for her notable roles in Pakistani television series and films, lauded Marwat’s decision, hailing it as a testament to his integrity and respect for marital bonds.

From her debut in the television series “Dareecha” in 2011 to her recent successes in “Tich Button” (2022), Hussain has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry with her versatile performances.

Marwat’s stance resonates in a society where discussions around second marriages often overlook the emotional well-being of spouses and children.

His decision not only reflects his commitment to his family but also sets a positive example for others to prioritize empathy and ethical considerations in their relationships.
