The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently introduced updated criteria for obtaining family residency visa, which include specific requirements related to residency duration and income levels.
This development comes as part of efforts by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship to streamline and regulate the process of issuing family residency permits to non-citizen residents of the Emirates.
Income and Residency Requirements:
To be eligible for a family residency visa in the UAE, individuals must meet certain criteria.
One key requirement is demonstrating a minimum monthly income of 3,000 dirhams. Additionally, applicants must provide proof of residency in the country.
Medical Examination for Adults:
Family members aged 18 and above who are applying for residency permits are required to undergo a medical examination.
This examination is conducted at approved healthcare facilities in the UAE and is a mandatory step in the application process.
Conversion of Visitor Visas:
Relatives of residency permit holders who are currently in the UAE on a temporary entry visa have the option to convert their visitor visa to a residency permit.
This conversion process must adhere to the regulations set by the authorities.
Application Process and Timeline:
It’s important to note that the conversion process from a visitor visa to a residency permit must be completed within 60 days of the individual’s arrival in the UAE.
Applicants can submit their residency permit applications through the designated “e-channels” system or the official authority website, as outlined in the recent announcement.
