Nawaz Sharif's guard charged for 'spitting' on woman in London

Nawaz Sharif’s guard has been charged for ‘spitting’ on woman in London.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has brought charges against Farid Nemouchi, the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif‘s driver and close protection guard, in connection with an alleged assault involving spitting on a woman in London last September.

This development follows a complaint by Panzani Cheema, a Brunei national employed in London.

Incident Details:

The incident occurred shortly after Pakistani media had interviewed Nawaz Sharif. Cheema approached Nemouchi’s vehicle as he was leaving to transport Nawaz Sharif from his son’s office.

Cheema reportedly began filming and questioning, alleging corruption against Nawaz Sharif, which purportedly provoked Nemouchi.

Allegations and Response:

Allegedly, in response to Cheema’s accusations, Nemouchi spat on Cheema’s face before driving away. The entire episode was captured on Cheema’s mobile phone.

Nemouchi subsequently appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court accompanied by his legal representative, Moeen Khan, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge of common assault.

Defense Argument:

In his defense, Nemouchi’s lawyer highlighted the circumstances surrounding the incident, pointing out that Nemouchi was tasked with protecting a high-profile individual under live threats.

The lawyer emphasized Nemouchi’s professional qualifications, including his martial arts expertise, and asserted his client’s presumption of innocence until proven guilty by the court, in accordance with UK law.

“We will try to prove that our client didn’t break any law. It must be kept in mind the circumstances of the incident of September 16 last year. Farid was protecting a high-profile figure at the time who had live threats to his life, reported to the Met Police. Farid Nemouchi is a professional boxer and bodyguard, one of the best in the field. He is innocent until proven guilty by the court as is the UK law.”

Legal Proceedings:

As Nawaz Sharif‘s guard charged for ‘spitting’ on woman in London, the trial has been scheduled to take place at a later date, tentatively set for June or July.

Nemouchi intends to contest the charge and present evidence to support his claim of innocence during the upcoming legal proceedings.
