In a virtual summit, the heads of the Group of Seven (G7) nations, comprising the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Britain, Italy, and Canada, have issued a unified condemnation of Iran following its recent attack on Israel.

The G-7 leaders expressed unwavering solidarity with Israel and condemned Iran’s actions as profoundly destabilizing to the region.

Support for Israel and Condemnation of Iran:

During the emergency meeting, the G7 leaders unequivocally stood by Israel, denouncing Iran’s assault and its broader implications for regional stability.

The attack by Iran on Israel was deemed unacceptable and met with strong condemnation from the member nations.

Warning of Strict Sanctions:

In response to Iran’s aggressive actions, the G-7 nations issued a stern warning, indicating that if Iran fails to cease its proxy attacks and aggressive behavior, severe sanctions targeting Iran’s drone and missile programs could be imposed.

Commitment to De-escalation and Stability:

Amid escalating tensions, the G-7 emphasized their commitment to pursuing diplomatic avenues for de-escalation and stability in the region.

Efforts will be directed towards fostering peace and resolving the ongoing crisis through dialogue and cooperation.

Resolution of Gaza Crisis and Humanitarian Aid:

This includes advocating for an immediate and enduring ceasefire, securing the release of Israeli hostages, and providing essential humanitarian aid to Palestinians in need.

UN Security Council’s Inconclusive Meeting:

The United Nations Security Council also convened to address Iran’s attack on Israel but failed to reach a consensus.

However, similar sentiments were echoed in the meeting, with widespread condemnation of Iran’s actions and expressions of support for Israel.
