Led by skipper Rilee Rossouw’s stellar unbeaten knock of 34 runs, the Gladiators showcased their mettle in the face of a challenging chase.

Opening batsman Jason Roy set the tone early on with a blistering 37 off just 18 balls, displaying an impressive strike rate of 205.55.

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, the Gladiators’ middle order held firm, with key contributions from Sherfane Rutherford and Mohammad Amir, guiding the team to victory in the penultimate over of the match.

The win marked the Gladiators’ third victory of the season, placing them alongside Multan Sultans as the only two teams with a trio of wins in the tournament so far.

On the bowling front, Gladiators’ bowlers put up a spirited performance to restrict Islamabad United to a modest total earlier in the match.

Despite a strong start from Alex Hales, who launched two consecutive sixes before falling to Akeal Hosein, United struggled to build significant partnerships.

Salman Ali Agha top-scored with 33 runs, but regular wickets prevented United from gaining momentum, ultimately culminating in a below-par total of 138/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, Gladiators’ bowlers maintained a disciplined line and length, with Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Jr. wreaking havoc with three wickets apiece.

Despite a late surge from Imad Wasim and Jordan Cox, United’s efforts fell short as the Gladiators emerged victorious in a thrilling contest that enthralled cricket fans across the nation.
