Pakistani passport ranks among world’s weakest. In the latest report from residence advisory firm Henley & Partners, the Pakistani passport finds itself among the world’s weakest, standing at the fourth-lowest position globally.
According to the Henley Passport Index 2024, Pakistan is placed at a sobering 106th position, offering visa-free access to only 34 destinations worldwide.
This decline reflects a persistent trend, with Pakistan’s ranking plummeting from 79th in 2006 to its current position in 2024, underscoring ongoing challenges in international mobility and diplomacy.

Despite a slight improvement from previous years, where Pakistani passport holders enjoyed access to 31 nations without visas, the addition of three more destinations represents only a modest uptick in global mobility.
The nation’s passport now stands alongside war-torn countries like Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, highlighting the formidable hurdles faced by Pakistani travelers on the global stage.
Experts point to a myriad of factors contributing to Pakistan’s stagnant passport ranking, including strained diplomatic ties with various nations, economic instability, and a dearth of comprehensive policies aimed at fostering international engagement.
Notably, even countries grappling with internal conflicts, such as Yemen, Somalia, and Palestine, have managed to surpass Pakistan in terms of passport strength on the index.
