Iran unveils domestically-made defence systems. Iran has recently showcased its latest advancements in defense technology with the unveiling of two cutting-edge systems: the “Arman” anti-ballistic missile system and the “Azarakhsh” low-altitude air defense system.

Developed under the supervision of Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani, these systems represent a significant leap forward in the country’s defense capabilities.

The Arman system was revealed at a ceremony attended by military officials and experts, boasting two distinct variants: one equipped with passive radar technology and the other with active radar capabilities.

Named after the Persian word for “hope,” this system utilizes Iran’s domestically-produced Sayyad 3 class missiles, renowned for their precision and ability to engage multiple targets simultaneously within a range of 120km to 180km.

Meanwhile, the Azarakhsh system, named after the Persian word for “lightning,” offers enhanced protection against low-altitude aerial threats.

Its unveiling underscores Iran’s commitment to bolstering its air defense infrastructure, ensuring readiness and resilience in the face of potential adversaries.

The introduction of these advanced defense systems marks a significant milestone for Iran’s military capabilities.
