On Thursday morning, widespread rumors circulated regarding the health of Pakistan’s former Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, suggesting that he had suffered a heart attack.

These unverified reports claimed that the retired four-star general, who relinquished his position on November 29, 2022, had been admitted to the Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology.

However, subsequent confirmations have debunked these rumors, affirming that Gen (r) Qamar Bajwa is in good health and not suffered heart attack.

It has been revealed that the earlier reports were disseminated with the intention of maligning his reputation, coinciding with Election Day on February 8, 2024.

General (r) Bajwa’s tenure as the commander of the formidable Pakistani military spanned three years, commencing in November 2016.

His term was extended in mid-2019 by then-Prime Minister Imran Khan.

However, Khan’s subsequent removal from office has fueled ongoing allegations, with Khan persistently blaming Bajwa and the military establishment for orchestrating his downfall and manipulating political affairs.

Qamar Javed Bajwa is a retired Pakistani army general who served as the tenth chief of the army staff of Pakistan from 29 November 2016 to 29 November 2022. In 2018 he was ranked 68th in the Forbes list of the World’s Most Powerful People.
