- Extended Stay or Multiple Entries: Should Indian tourists plan to stay in Iran for longer than the allotted 15-day period or intend to make multiple entries within a six-month timeframe, they must obtain a visa as per the regular procedures.
- Mode of Entry: Notably, the visa-waiver rule specifically pertains to Indian travelers arriving in Iran by air. It is implied that those entering the country via land or sea routes will still require a visa for entry.
This initiative by Iran aligns with a broader trend of countries easing visa regulations to promote tourism and enhance bilateral relations. In recent months, nations like Vietnam, Thailand, and Sri Lanka have also relaxed their visa rules for Indian visitors.
