Taking to the platform formerly known as Twitter, Goldsmith unequivocally expressed her strong support for a ceasefire in Gaza and a political solution for Palestinians.
The clarification comes in the wake of widespread criticism Goldsmith faced in October for adopting what was perceived as a “both sides” stance on the Israeli aggression against Palestine.
At the time, she posted on her social media handle, stating, “I stand with the innocent human beings on both sides of this conflict. Condemn both,” sparking backlash from individuals across the globe.
In her latest statement, Goldsmith aimed to elucidate her stance on the matter, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to a peaceful resolution.
She stated, “For the avoidance of doubt, to those asking, I am unequivocally & passionately pro-ceasefire in Gaza & a political solution for Palestinians.”

Notably, Goldsmith highlighted that her advocacy for an end to the killing of innocent children in the context of the Gaza conflict marks the only instance where her position has been remotely controversial.
To reinforce her commitment to the cause, Goldsmith shared a post from UNICEF, expressing the organization’s welcome for a temporary pause in fighting and the return of children to their families in Gaza.
However, UNICEF continues to call for a complete and immediate ceasefire, citing the precarious humanitarian situation in Gaza, particularly concerning the well-being of children.
