Cricketer Sohaib Maqsood exposes alleged extortion and bribery by Sindh police. At least four officials from the Sindh police were apprehended on Tuesday, with an additional two being suspended, following serious allegations of extortion and bribery leveled by renowned national cricketer Sohaib Maqsood.

The sportsman took to the social media platform X to expose what he described as rampant corruption within the Sindh police force.

Maqsood detailed a troubling encounter during his road journey from Karachi to Multan, asserting that Sindh police officers halted him approximately 50 kilometers outside Karachi.

Allegedly, the officers demanded money and issued threats of unwarranted detainment. Despite identifying themselves as international cricketers and offering a bribe of 8000 rupees, Maqsood claimed that they were stopped again after covering an additional 50 kilometers, with further monetary demands made.

Expressing his frustration, Maqsood lamented the state of corruption within the Sindh police, stating, “We are so lucky that we live in Punjab, not in Sindh.

First time in my life, I am traveling from Karachi to Multan by road, and Sindh police is so corrupt that they stop you after 50 km and ask for money or they threaten you to go to the police station for no reason.”

Taking swift action, Sindh Inspector General Raffat Raja ordered an immediate inquiry into the matter, emphasizing the necessity for stringent measures against any implicated officials.
