Amitabh Bachchan gifts Juhu bungalow Prateeksha to daughter Shweta. In a heartfelt gesture, legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly gifted his iconic Juhu bungalow, Prateeksha, to his daughter Shweta Bachchan.
According to a report by Money Control, a formal gift deed was signed on November 8, accompanied by a stamp duty payment of ₹50.65 lakh.
The property, situated within the Vithal Nagar Cooperative Housing Society Ltd, spans two plots with sizes of 890.47 sq m and 674 sq m. Its estimated valuation stands at a substantial ₹50 crore, as reported by India Today.
Prateeksha holds a significant place in the Bachchan family’s history, being the first home purchased by Amitabh Bachchan, who initially resided there with his parents, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan.
The house derives its name from a line in Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s poem, which translates to “Welcome for everyone, but not for anyone in anticipation, Prateeksha.”
During the fourteenth season of the popular quiz reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan shared insights into the significance of Prateeksha, stating, “This name was given by my father, and there is a line in his father’s poem which says, ‘Swagat sabke liye yahan par nehin kisike liye Prateeksha’.”
Notably, Prateeksha holds additional sentimental value as it served as the venue for the wedding of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
The familial bond between Amitabh Bachchan and his daughter Shweta Bachchan is evident, with Shweta taking to Instagram on the legendary actor’s birthday to share cherished moments between them.
One post featured the caption, “Happy 81st Papa. Big shoes (and hugs) no one can ever manage to fill.” Another set of pictures from the birthday celebration was captioned, “May you always be surrounded by love.”
Looking ahead, Amitabh Bachchan is set to grace the silver screen in Prabhas’ upcoming film, “Kalki 2898 – AD,” where he will share the spotlight with Deepika Padukone. Additionally, the dynamic duo of Deepika Padukone and Big B will reunite in the Hindi adaptation of “The Intern.”
