The chairman personally spoke to the 33-year-old batter, expressing his admiration for the match-winning knock and his hopes for more such stellar performances in the future.

Pakistan’s victory was all the more significant as they chased down a daunting target of 402 runs. Fakhar, along with Babar Azam, led the charge with a formidable partnership, displaying aggressive yet calculated batting.

Rain briefly interrupted play when Pakistan’s score stood at 160-1 in 21.3 overs, with Fakhar in full flow and Babar steadily approaching his half-century.

Following the rain delay, the target was revised to 342 runs in 41 overs. Undeterred by the interruption, Fakhar resumed his onslaught, reaching an impressive 126 runs. Babar Azam provided crucial support with an unbeaten 66.

Despite another brief rain interruption, Pakistan continued their aggressive play, amassing an additional 40 runs in four overs.

Their fireworks meant they finished 21 runs ahead of the DLS par score, securing the victory that not only bolstered their points tally but also kept their dreams of reaching the semi-finals alive.
