BCCI bans tracking and paragliding for national players to avoid injuries. Players who are a part of the national squad for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 are subject to new regulations set forth by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI).
In order to prevent any injuries during the ongoing mega tournament, the board has forbidden the members of the national squad from tracking and paragliding.
The development occurred after the BCCI looked at the players’ actions during a recent brief break that was granted to them after India claimed five straight victories in the World Cup 2023.
The players were given a brief break of two days by the board while the coaching staff and others spent days doing tracking in hilly areas and some of the players went home to see their families.
Vikram Rathore, the batting coach for the Indian team, and Rahul Dravid also participated in the tracking. The board ruled that it would be against the terms of the contract for the players to go paragliding and tracking.
As BCCI bans tracking and paragliding for national players to avoid injuries, India is currently leading the World Cup 2023 points standings and will face off against England on October 29.
How can Pakistan still qualify for World Cup 2023 semis?
Pakistan is currently in fifth place on the World Cup 2023 points table after losing three straight games to Australia, India, and Afghanistan.
According to the tournament rules, the top four teams in the points standings will advance to the semifinals. India currently holds the top spot, followed by Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa in the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
Following Pakistan, Afghanistan is ranked sixth after defeating Pakistan on October 23.
Four more games between the team green and New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh, and England remain. Pakistan must win all four games in order to advance to the semifinals because they will then have 12 points in the standings.
